GRIN is seeking monetary donations to pay for medical care and spaying or neutering of rescued dogs, and also needs volunteers to provide foster homes for dogs. Donations may be mailed. Information is at www.grinrescue.org.St. Bernard’s-St. Mary’s Hunger Program, 44 University Ave., Akron, 44308, serves sack lunches and coffee five days a week to poor and homeless people and provides a warm place to congregate in the early morning. It needs donations of men’s white athletic socks, hats and gloves, combs, razors, small bottles of moisturizer and money to buy these items.Donations may be dropped off at St. Bernard’s-St. Mary’s Rectory from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. It is seeking donations of money, school supplies, winter coats and school uniforms for a skating event for children in kindergarten through eighth grade, planned for Jan. 14 at G.S.F.E Cade, 1615 E.
